What We Work On

A Three-Day BCBA-Led Toilet Training Intensive, Built Around Your Child

Most children develop toilet training skills naturally, but for children with autism, it often requires a completely different approach. ChoicePoint's toilet training consulting service is led directly by Dr. Carly Lapin, BCBA-D, and built around the science of applied behavior analysis. Dr. Lapin works one-on-one with families to assess your child's readiness, identify barriers, and build a customized, step-by-step plan that fits your child and your home.

In-person and virtual support, depending on what works for your family. In-person sessions are available to families in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs, where Dr. Lapin runs the protocol directly in your home while you observe, ask questions, and learn alongside her. Virtual sessions are available to families anywhere in the United States, with Dr. Lapin coaching you through the protocol over live video in real time. Both formats end the same way: with a real foundation, a clear plan, and a path forward.

Flexible timing, designed to fit wherever your family is in the journey. Families come to Dr. Lapin at different points in their care, and the three-day intensive fits in alongside whatever else is happening. It works well before a child begins ABA therapy at ChoicePoint, alongside ABA therapy a child is receiving from another provider, after intake while a family is waiting for ABA services to begin, or as a standalone service for families who do not need broader ABA support.

Toilet training consulting is available now, while the ChoicePoint clinic prepares to open in Chicago in Fall 2026. A free 30-minute consultation with Dr. Lapin is the place to start, and she will tell you honestly whether the three-day protocol is the right fit for your child.

Four Ways to Work With Dr. Lapin on Toilet Training

  • Two-hour virtual parent training session with Dr. Lapin
  • Three days of text support during implementation

  • Everything included in the Starter Plan
  • Four-hour live coaching session on Day 1 (virtual or in-home)
  • Real-time guidance during the most challenging phase of training

Clinician-Owned & Evidence-Based

ChoicePoint Behavioral Services was founded by Dr. Carly Lapin, BCBA-D, a doctoral-level behavior analyst with over a decade of experience in autism research and clinical care. ChoicePoint was built on a simple but powerful belief: that every child deserves therapy designed around them, not a protocol. Every decision here is made by a clinician, every plan is built on data, and every family is treated as a true partner in their child's progress.
